The ultimate flex on renegades and trailblazers alike
Though I didn\’t do my usual laundromat visit this time around, the Bronco Sport First Edition was perfect for taking my mom out for her birthday, plus some grocery shopping, a visit to the recycling center in Riner, and a trek up the mountains into the Blue Ridge Parkway for a few quiet moments looking upon Devil\’s Backbone. It certainly got quite a few looks and comments everywhere it went.
Through it all, the First Edition managed 22.7 mpg during the week it was with me, falling within the 21 city/26 highway MPG estimates. The stop-start certainly helped during all of the in-town driving I did.
Finally, legroom in the rear is pretty good with the front seats pushed back. As a reminder, though, I am 5 ft 6 who wears a short inseam on her jeans; your mileage will vary.
In closing
Just as the Bronco II did in its day, the Bronco Sport lays down the law against the compact competition, from the Chevrolet Trailblazer and Jeep Renegade, to the Toyota RAV4 and Mazda CX-5. And even if you don\’t wind up with a First Edition, you will wind up with a fine machine suitable for in-town errands and weekend off-road adventures alike.
