The Tale of the Tape
The Hyundai Elantra Limited sits at the head of the main Elantra family table, which includes the SE and SEL. The high-performance Elantra N and N-Line hang out with their fellow N and N-Line brethren, and the Elantra Hybrid lives with the rest of the Hyundai hybrid and electric congregation. Base MSRP is $25,450, total sticker price of $26,610 as-tested during the week it was with me. A handful of options are available, though the only one on this Lava Orange example was a set of carpeted floor mats ($155).
Under the hood is the sole engine available to the mainline Elantra family, a 2.0-liter Smartstream inline-four. There, 147 horses and their combined 132 lb-ft of torque leave the corral through the chain-driven Smartstream IVT CVT to the front pair of Kumho-wrapped 17-inch alloys.
Stepping inside the Hyundai Elantra Limited, you\’ll find a black interior with leather-trimmed seating for five. The 10.25-inch center touchscreen contains Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus a three-month trial to Sirius XM. Another 10.25-inch TFT screen features a pair of fancy white-face gauges, though you\’ll want to enable the speedometer in the center section to have a better idea of how fast or slow you\’re moving (among other information).
Meanwhile, dual-zone climate control can be synched to keep things balanced in the cabin. And of course, the eight-speaker Bose system with subwoofer is good to go for your favorite songs while on the road.
