2021 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy: The Writing is on the Road

The Tale of the Tape

\"\"

As already stated, the Palisade Calligraphy is the top-tier trim available to the entire Palisade line, which include the SE, SEL, and Limited trims. Base MSRP, per the supplied window sticker, is $47,750, $47,965 as tested during the week it was with me. The only option selected for this example was the carpet mat set ($215). Other available options include a winter package (mudguards and all-season mats; $335), cargo cover/screen ($190), and a first kit ($30). Once you\’re at this level, you nearly have every option in the Palisade line as standard equipment.

One feature completely standard across the line is the 3.8-liter V6 with eight-speed automatic. Though it powers the front wheels alone out of the box, $1,700 can direct the 291 horses and their 262 lb-ft of torque to all corners, each wearing trim-exclusive 20-inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestones.

Inside, wood and leather trim with metal accents greet you and your six passengers (the Calligraphy\’s second row consists of two captain\’s chairs, instead of the bench found in lower trims). The front and rear sections each have their own sunroof, though the rear is controlled by a switch up front. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are easily accessed through the 10.25-inch touchscreen, and there are charging ports for days, including the front seat backs, and the C-pillars. Throw in a three-month trial to Sirius XM, a HUD, and wireless charging for the front seats, and you\’ve got a family cruiser ready to hit the road in style.

Which is what I did when I rolled up to Maryland for a special mission.
