2021 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium: Fast, Furious, and Useful

My Old Dominion home usually sees a few cool pickups and muscle cars on occasion, as well as all the fun JDM stuff from hometown favorite Duncan Imports. However, it\’s never seen a GR Supra of any sort before, let alone one in Nitro Yellow.

Thus, this GR Supra 3.0 Premium got plenty of looks and praise. One person even whipped out their smartphone while waiting to make a turn as I drove by to check in on my grandmother. Whether I was at the grocery store with my mom, taking her to work, or spending some time doing laundry, the GR Supra was a pleasant, sunny surprise.

As for those aforementioned mundane activities, the cargo area handled my laundry and a small (for my mom) load of groceries well. Of course, the cup holders placed behind the occupants weren\’t the most handy to use, not to mention how quickly the cabin warmed up after turning off the AC for a few moments, melting a milkshake Mom had gotten for my grandmother, leading to a trip to the nearby Sonic drive-thru.

And speaking of drive-thrus, the low window openings weren\’t too much trouble when it came to receiving food. On the other hand, parking would\’ve been easier if a front camera were available to help guide me into a space, considering how long the nose is to accommodate the turbocharged inline-six.

That turbo-six, by the way? Toyota says it delivers 22 mpg in the city, 30 on the highway, 25 mpg combined. I managed 22.8 mpg with mostly in-town driving.
