The Hyundai Sonata N Line is part of the Sonata family, slotted between the SEL Plus and the Limited trim levels; there\’s also an N Line Night trim level, with an emphasis on blacked-out trim and monochrome paint choices. Base MSRP is $33,450, $34,644 total sticker as-tested during the week it was with me.

Options available for the Sonata N Line include a $200 summer tire package, Calypso Red paint for $400, and a winter weather package for $330. The only option on this Stormy Sea example is a set of carpeted floor mats ($169).

Under the hood is the Sonata N Line\’s biggest selling point: a 2.5 turbo-four with 290 horsepower and 311 lb-ft of torque. The power hits the front pair of N Unique 19-inch alloy wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch with paddle shiters and drive mode select, giving plenty for the Pirelli P Zeros to work with.

Behind all that power, a 12.3-inch LCD cluster presents all driving info anyone would need to know, and whose appearance changes from its base premium appearance to a fiery red performance look via the drive mode. Next to it is a 10.25-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, plus a three-month SiriusXM trial and a three-year Hyundai Blue Link subscription.

Meanwhile, the front N Unique buckets include the N badge placed below the headrests and are trimmed in black leather and Dinamica with orange stitching. The floor pedals match the performance-oriented trim, too, swapping out the Sonata\’s usual black units for aluminum with black rubber grip pads. The 60/40 split rear seats expand trunk storage for longer items, and the panoramic sunroof allows all of the sunshine in.
