A Note from the Highway: The following story was originally told on the Chilton DIY Blog last year, before it was lost in a major update. The words aren\’t the same as they were originally written; nothing to copy and paste, after all.
As nearly everything is closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, though, I figured it would be a fine time to look back on a day when things were right on the Highway.
In early June of 2019, I heard through the news that Hot Rod magazine was celebrating its 25th anniversary of its Power Tour with a trek from Charlotte to Norwalk, Ohio, the site of the final stop of the first-ever tour.
I also heard the Power Tour would be making a few first-ever stops for the silver anniversary celebration, including Martinsville Speedway in Martinsville, Virginia.
Just 90 minutes south of my Old Dominion home.
