Throwback: Mecum Louisville 2019

2020 Toyota GR Supra Launch Edition

\"\"

The newest car at Mecum Louisville 2019 was so new, it likely went straight from the container ship to the auction. This 2020 Toyota Supra GR Launch Edition had 16 miles on its odometer. It also had a reserve price far above the $56,445 MSRP for this specific car, let alone the $67,500 it had grabbed before everyone tapped out. I wonder what the owner was hoping to get.

2005 Pontiac GTO

A special shout-out to this 2005 Pontiac GTO, one of the few rear-drive machines made in Australia by GM subsidiary Holden in the 2000s. Like Pontiac and GTO, Holden will soon be cast into the winds of history, as GM is killing off the brand by 2021 as part of its global road map.

This 6.0-liter V8 model did extremely well for itself, going to its new home for $22,000. We were lucky to have some Aussie power on shores while Holden still could build them like this.

1973 Dodge Challenger

\"\"

The last three model years of the first-gen Dodge Challenger lived in a time where gas shortages, decreased power, and changing tastes took much out of the muscle car. That also means rides like this \’73 can be brought up to speed with a few modifications, including a 5.7-liter Hemi V8, 20-inch wheels, and custom gauges. This one found a home for $52,800.
